Welcome to Valladolid! To ensure your arrival is as smooth as possible, we have prepared the following travel guidelines to reach the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Valladolid (ETSAVA), University of Valladolid.
- Arrival in Spain
We recommend flying into Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez International Airport (MAD) for best flexibility and transport options. From the airport to the Train station: once you land at Madrid Airport, you have several convenient options to reach the Train Station:
- Cercanías Train (Recommended)
- Line: Cercanías Renfe C-1 or C-10 to Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor Train Station (if you’re traveling to Valladolid by train).
- Departure: From Terminal 4 (T4) railway station at Madrid Airport. Please note that if you land in another terminal you can use the free airport shuttle bus to reach T4 (24 hours a day regularly).
- Journey Time: About 15–20 minutes.
- Frequency: Trains every 15–30 minutes.
- Ticket Cost: Approx. 2.60 €.
- Taxi
- Journey Time: Around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
- Cost: Approximately 30–35 €.
For those who come from Málaga by train, if you’re traveling to Valladolid by train, please note that you need to change station. Madrid has two main train stations: “Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor” and “Madrid Puerta de Atocha Almudena Grandes”. Trains to Valladolid only depart from Madrid Chamartín. From one station to the other you can take a taxi or by train Cercanías Renfe. In this case, please be aware that the station is under renovation and finding your way could take longer.
2. From Madrid to Valladolid
Once in Madrid, you have multiple ways to travel to Valladolid:
a) High-Speed Train (Renfe AVE or Avant)
- Departure: Madrid-Chamartín Clara Campoamor Train Station. Please be aware that the station is under renovation and finding your way could take longer.
- Journey Time: approximately 1 hour.
- Tickets: it is advisable to book in advance via Renfe’s website, at least 1 week before.
Upon arrival at Valladolid-Campo Grande Station, Residencia Reyes Católicos is about 1 km away (15 minutes walking). You can also take a taxi (approx. 8–10 €).

b) Bus (ALSA)
- Departure: from Airport Terminal 4 (T4) or the city’s stations: Madrid Méndez Álvaro (Estación Sur) or Madrid Moncloa.
- Journey Time: Approximately 3 hours.
- Tickets: Available at ALSA’s website.

Upon arrival at Valladolid Bus Station, Residencia Reyes Católicos is about 1,5 km away (20 minutes walking). You can also take a taxi (approx. 8–10 €), or a local Bus (line 2 to Plaza Fuente Dorada.

3. Local Transportation in Valladolid
- Taxi: reliable and reasonably priced. Apps like FreeNow or local taxis are available.
- Public Bus: AUVASA buses cover the city efficiently. You can easily pay your ticket inside the bus with your credit card.
- Walking: the city center is compact; ETSAVA is easily reachable on foot. Residencia Reyes Católicos is about 1,4 km away (20 minutes walking) from ETSAVA.

4. Arrival at ETSAVA
Av. de Salamanca, 18, 47014 Valladolid.
The main entrance is on the eastern side of the building, facing Av. De Salamanca. From the hall, you should find arrows to guide you to the lecture rooms for the training school.
